Working with the Environment Agency and The Wessex and Salmon Rivers Trust among others, Christchurch Angling Club offer game and coarse fishing in rivers and lakes across Hampshire and Dorset, including the world famous Somerley Estate stretch of the Hampshire Avon, home to Chris Yates ‘Deepening Pool’ and the first river Avon salmon in 2009. 2010 has seen an early run of fish and a promising start to the salmon season. Our rivers have wild brownies as well as salmon, sea trout, grayling.
With Around 40 fisheries and more being added, fishing includes barbel to over 17lb, pike to nearly 30lb and 30lb+ carp as well as chub, roach and perch bream etc.
The club run matches for seniors and juniors as well as a monthly fly- fishing competitions for the trout angler.
The Club also boasts probably the best coaching section, game and coarse, of any club in England with events for adults and juniors.
