Taunton Angling Association has been well established for just over 50 years. The club has roughly 700 senior members and 300 junior members. Taunton Angling Association welcomes beginners to the most experienced angler.
The River Tone:
Taunton Angling Association own the fishing rights on the River Tone From Firepool weir to Bathpool Bridge which runs alongside the A38 this is what is known as the fast stretch. Species on this water include: Roach, Rudd, Bream, Chub, Dace, Perch, Pike, Carp, Tench, Grayling and Eels.
Walton Pond
It is an excellent venue for specialist carp angler's and great for pleasure and match anglers. The pond's largest inhabitants are carp in their mid twenties and some very large Bream. The pond also holds a good head of Skimmer Bream, Roach and Perch.
West Sedgemoor Drain at Stathe
This water contains some specimen fish which include Pike, Carp, Roach, Tench, Perch, Bream and Eels. Disabled swims available at the pumping station.
The Bridgwater and Taunton Canal
Taunton Angling Association own the fishing rights from Firepool lock Taunton where the canal enters the River Tone, to higher Durston (Upper Maunsell Lock). The canal boasts a stock of Roach, Rudd, Tench, Carp, Pike, Perch, Bream and Eels
Maunsell Ponds
Maunsell Ponds are a complex of three ponds in the grounds of Maunsell House and offers fishing for Roach, Rudd, Carp, Tench, Perch and Bream.
Thurlbear Pond
Thurlbear is the newest of our ponds and holds Carp to 18lbs Roach to 2lbs and also Tench, Bream, Eels and Perch.
Wych Lodge Lake
Wych Lodge Lake is situated on the northern Slopes of the Blackdown hills and is stocked with Carp, Grass Carp, Perch, Roach, Rudd and Tench.
