The cottage is adapted for visitors with disabilities and there is a stair lift to the first floor. The cost (from £280 - £600 per week) includes bed linen, towels, logs, electricity and the use of a clothes washing machine and tumble drier.
Fishing at Clifford Barton
Visitors to the cottage fish free of charge and pay £2 per lb for anything caught. Other fishermen are welcome by appointment and pay £7.50 per half day plus £2 per lb. Tuition, including all equipment, is available at £15 per hour, Nick has successfully taught young and old to fish here for many years. It is a lovely peaceful place to learn how to cast a fly or to enjoy your already proficient angling skills. All fishermen should have a Rod Fishing Licence, available at Post Offices. The River Teign forms one farm boundary and we have two rods available for our visitors on a half mile stretch. It is a delightful Dartmoor river with good runs of salmon and sea trout. The native brown trout are small but demanding. There are four named pools on our beat.
Full fishing rules are available at Clifford Barton and must be followed at all times, for further information and availability please don’t hesitate to contact ……Sue Butler-Cole
