The Half Moon Inn is situated in some of the most picturesque countryside in North Devon. Surrounded by Dartmoor, Exmoor and Bodmin Moors, there is an abundance of rolling countryside, high moorland and wooded valley’s for you to explore. To the North there is some of the most stunning coastal scenery to be seen in the British Isles.

All of the rooms at the Half Moon are typical of a building dating back to 1814, probably further. There are 9 rooms in the main building and a further 4 rooms in our courtyard annexe, these rooms are good for guests with dogs as they are easily accessible. There are 2 ground floor rooms situated in the annexe, these have double beds.

We have our own fishing for salmon, sea-trout and brown trout on ten miles of the River Torridge available exclusively for our guests. For those of you who wish to ‘cast a line’ for the first time, tuition and helpful advice are available, it is helpful if you let us know when booking if tuition is required. Tackle is also available for hire.

The game fishing on the River Torridge is extremely varied, with salmon, sea-trout and brown trout all providing excellent sport at different times throughout the season.

Fishing for salmon on this spate river is very dependent on the weather, but when the height and colour of the water are correct, you will have a great chance of taking a fish.
