Lower Dutson Farm Cottages

Lower Dutson Farm Cottages is the perfect countryside haven, surrounded by rolling hillside and teaming with wildlife. The farm is on the Cornish side of the river Tamar, central for visiting the sandy beaches and harbours of Devon and Cornwall and its National Trust houses and gardens. Lower Dutson is an 180 acre working cattle and sheep farm, and offers self catering accommodation with Coarse/River fishing available when staying either in Swallows (sleeps 2- 6) or Meadow Cottage (sleeps 2-8).

Fishing is free for up to two persons when staying at the cottages. Each cottage is well equipped and ticks all the boxes for making your stay both enjoyable and relaxing. As well as self catering cottages we also have a Caravan Club Site which is open all year and overlooks our pretty sheltered lake with an abundance of wildlife. Mains water and toilet facilities are available on site and prices of £9 per night include electric hook ups.

Coarse Fishing at Lower Dutson Farm Cottages
At Dutson Farm a three-quarter acre coarse fishing lake is located in beautiful tranquil surroundings, perfect for relaxing on a warm summer’s day. The lake is well stocked with a variety of healthy fish including mirror and common carp, (some weighing over 20lb) crucian carp, tench, bream, perch, rudd and roach. Each swim is different on the lake, with various depths and angles. Bait and tackle can be purchased at Homeleigh Garden Centre just 400 metres away.

River Fishing at Lower Dutson Farm Cottages
The river is the lower farm boundary between Devon and Cornwall and has a good number of pools along its 1.2km stretch. Trout and grayling may be caught as well as salmon in season. Salmon/sea trout fishing season 1st March-14th October, trout fishing season 15th March- 30th September and grayling season 16th June - 31st October.

Environmental Authority licences are needed for both coarse fishing and river fishing. These can be purchased, along with all other equipment, from the Homeleigh Garden & Angling Centre, just 400 metres away.
