Where to Stay

A detached former watermill set in grounds of almost one acre and situated in a small hamlet of just a few houses about half a mile from the riverside village of Umberleigh.

 

The cottage is some two hundred yards from the River Taw, one of the best Salmon and Sea Trout rivers in the West Country. We have two and a half miles of double bank fishing offering challenging sport. Recent catches have included Salmon up to 20lbs and Sea Trout up to 15lbs.

 

The Taw Valley provides an ideal base from which to explore North Devon and Exmoor. Old Mill house sleeps six, with each bedroom enjoying an exclusive shower room. There is a cosy sitting room with woodburning stove and the kitchen/dining room is well equipped with a full range of appliances including dishwasher.
