The Tallat House

The Tallat House at Taw Mill is idyllically situated in 28 acres of beautiful Devonshire scenery. The property is a traditional thatched Devon cottage with its own large secluded garden and hot tub. It sleeps 4 and is decorated to a high standard with all modern conveniences and 2 bathrooms, making this a truly charming and comfortable stay. Next to the cottage there is a well-stocked Trout fishing lake and at least half a mile of fishing on the River Taw, both for the exclusive use of guests.

The Tallat House is a perfect base for exploring the area with many attractions to suit including National Trust properties and gardens, guided walks and hiking on Exmoor and Dartmoor, horse riding, clay pigeon shooting, golf, sea and coarse fishing venues that are all within easy driving. Nearby Winkleigh, and the many other unspoilt surrounding villages, have a selection of local country pubs with good food, ale and beers.

Fishing

Fishing is Free when staying with us and only for residents of The Tallat House. Other venues for Coarse or River fishing are within easy driving from us and offer day tickets. Charters run from Clovelly harbour for Mackerel/wreck fishing. Scenic trips can be booked for excursions exploring the North Devon coastline /Lundy Island. Fishing on the South Devon coast is also easily accessible.
