Woodlay Holidays

Woodlay Holidays is situated in a beautiful wooded valley in Herodsfoot in South East Cornwall. Woodlay is set in 24 acres of gardens, fishing lakes and old deciduous woodland. The fishing at Woodlay was established in 1977, There are 6 fishing lakes, the three larger lakes contain the large Carp, the majority being double figures with a few over 20 lbs. These lakes also have Roach, Rudd, Tench and Bream. The fish caught are wonderfully fit and beautifully coloured. The smaller lakes contain mainly Tench, Roach and Rudd and some large Carp as well as several hundred smaller Carp following restocking this year. Trout have been introduced into these lakes to provide even greater variety.

The fishing at Woodlay attracts guests year after year and is for residents only. This means that on occasion you or your family will have a lake to yourselves. Fishing equipment can be stored at the lakes in our new wooden lodge. In addition to the fishing there are beautiful walks through adjoining Deerpark forest and along the Looe river to the coast at Looe and Polperro which is only a 20 minute drive away.

We are only 20 minutes from the Eden Project and 30 minutes from the surfing beaches on the North Coast. Many National Trust properties and Cornish Gardens are within an easy drive.

Woodlay has 8 apartments in a beautiful 18th Century Cornish Barn. Each apartment has been refurbished with new kitchens and bathrooms. There are new double glazed windows and gas central heating and hot water. New carpets and furniture as well as plasma TVs and DVDs make the apartments very comfortable.We provide all bedding but ask our visitors to bring their own tea towels and towels.
