Summerhayes Fisheries Bridgwater - Somerset

Summerhayes Fisheries is located near Bridgwater, Somerset set within 24 acres of a registered county wildlife site. Onsite you will find 5 well stocked fishing lakes with Carp, Tench, Perch, Bream, Roach, Rudd, Barbel and Chub. Summerhayes mission is to ensure everyone of all ages have a great time, which is why most of our swims are disabled friendly and is the perfect place to stay and explore the surrounding areas of Somerset. Walnut Lodge - sleeps up to 4 persons and has been built to a very high standard with two spacious bedrooms with built-in wardrobes and twin beds which will be made on arrival. The large open planned kitchen, diner and lounge offers a space to relax in after a day of fishing, with French doors opening out onto a large sunny decking area. The bathroom is fully wheelchair accessible and includes a walk-in shower. 

 

Chestnut Lodge - is beautifully furnished, ensuring a comfortable stay for all. There are two spacious bedrooms with built-in wardrobes and twin beds which will be made on arrival. The large open planned kitchen, diner and lounge offers a space to relax. From the decking is a pathway leading to the main carpark from which you can access a variety of ponds and communal BBQ area. The bathroom is fully wheelchair accessible and includes a walk-in shower. The lodge is screened by trees and shrubs, with its own private parking for up to 2 cars.

 

 

Dennys Lake - Denny’s pond is for juniors only, however families are welcome to assist. This canal shaped pond has 5 swims and is full of small Carp and Silvers, ideal for beginners.

 

BIG 8 - Big 8 is a well-stocked specimen lake with carp in excellent condition and is the largest pond with an area of 3.5 acres. It’s set in the centre of the fishery and has 10 swims that are well spaced apart. The pond is rectangular in design and has two spits protruding on opposite sides. Between them is a small island which helps to form the shape of a number 8, giving it it’s name.

 

Little 8 - Little 8 has great cover from a 2 metre bank of soil covered in trees and shrubs; it is a good-sized pond with 14 swims. Peg 14 is disabled friendly with its own parking just off the main track. This pond contains plenty of Carp and Silvers with some nice sized Perch.

 

Longs Match Lake - Long’s is positioned alongside the track which runs through the fishery. The pegs along the track feature stepped access down to dug out swims. All the other pegs around the pond are level with the grass, this includes two disabled friendly platforms. There are 40 pegs in total, all well spaced apart. The large central island gives each swim approximately 16 metres, a good reach for a pole or waggler. There are a couple of pegs where you can fish to the point of the island, ideal for the tip rod. Long’s is well stocked with Carp and Silvers with a few surprises. Carp can reach double figures and there are some decent sized Bream.

 

Sellicks Pond - Sellick’s pond has 23 timber pegs and is oval in shape with a long island running through the middle, suitable for all types of fishing. Tight to the island are plenty of ledges, great for the summer. The Carp reach 10lb with a few doubles, Bream up to 5lb, Crucian up to 2.5lb and Tench up to 4lb, which could give you a nice mixed bag.
